Workshops for the production of animated films by visitors to an exhibition.
As part of the exhibition“We and the others, biases to racism” at theMusée de l’ Homme in Paris, in partnership withArcadi, within the framework of Passeurs d’images en Île-de-France, I was invited to design a playful workshop for the production of animated films for the public.
The films are made in sequence from cut paper. They are broadcast on the video channels of the Musée de l’ Homme. Visitors are invited to share their unique insights and sensitivities on the exhibition’s theme.
This workshop took place during the day on 2,3,16,17 April, 15 July, 28,29 and 30 October 2017. And aitinerant screening of a selection of these films in the exhibition itself on June 25,2017 (as part of the film festival).
A total of 190 films were made.

As part of the exhibition “We and the others, biases to racism” at the Musée de l’Homme in Paris, create an animated film to contribute creatively to the enrichment of views on the theme “Biases to Racism”.
In the central Atrium of the Museum of Man in Paris, a large animated film studio and an ephemeral mini-cinema house welcome visitors for the playful animation of an animated film.
Entering the place, the gaze is seized on one side by the open cinema, a large screen that shows the films already made, with its comfortable sofas; And opposite by the big table “studio of turning” on black ground, illuminated by lights of cinema, around which young, elderly, children, families are busy, impassioned by the precision of the arrangement of the forms Of paper cut out that make the scenery and characters of their films during filming. Numerical technologies (filming films with tablets) make it possible to rediscover the simplicity and the essential of the gestures of creation. Around another large table kraft color, feverish hands armed with pairs of scissors fun to cut in the many magazines, posters, textual, visual, graphic, typographical elements. Through these cut-outs linked to the exhibition, everyone’s imagination sets out. Around the filmmaker Benoît Labourdette, professional filmmakers accompany visitors to express their creativity: characters, texts, objects, sets, signs and letters, assemble in front of the cameras, each inventing from these elements a singular work , funny, surreal or serious ...
Once the films are finished, they are viewed on the big screen, and they are part of the collection! In the hour that follows, the films are broadcast on the internet, shareable on the social networks of each.
Open to all, free access within the limit of available places.
